Man Killed, Woman Hurt in Car Crash
One man was killed and a 37-year-old woman injured in a morning rush-hour accident on the San Diego Freeway where two vehicles flipped, California Highway Patrol officers said.
About 7:30 a.m., Nshan Kashikchyan, 45, of Reseda, was driving a rented 1998 Ford Contour southbound near the Rinaldi Street offramp when he sideswiped a 1993 Ford Explorer driven by Deyna Clough of Canyon Country, police said.
The Contour drove halfway up an embankment on the southbound side, flipped and landed back on the pavement. The driver’s side of the car was crushed, officers said, killing the driver.
The sport utility vehicle rolled over the center divider and came to rest on its hood.
The woman’s injuries were minor, police said.
