Gagliano’s Slam Leads Vigilantes

Manny Gagliano hit a first-inning grand slam to help the Vigilantes to a 9-1 victory over the Pacific Suns in a Western League game Friday at Oxnard College. It was the fourth consecutive victory for Mission Viejo.

The Vigilantes (47-38) moved one game ahead of the Sonoma County Crushers (46-39) in the race for the final playoff spot. Sonoma County lost its fourth consecutive game to Chico, which has already clinched the other Southern Division playoff spot.
