Woman Who Was Shot by Her Boyfriend Dies
SOUTH EL MONTE — A young woman who was shot several times by her boyfriend before he turned the gun on himself died Tuesday, a Los Angeles County sheriff’s sergeant said.
Connie Gutierrez, 19, of South El Monte, was pronounced dead at 2:23 a.m. at UCLA-Harbor Medical Center. Her boyfriend, Miguel Fernandez, 23, remains in critical condition at an undisclosed hospital, Sheriff’s Sgt. David Halm said.
Sheriff’s deputies found the couple at noon Monday while responding to a call of shots fired at a home on the 2400 block of Continental Avenue.
