Funding for Class-Size Reduction Program
More than 90%of first-and second-graders in California public schools are now in classes that have 20 or fewer students, according to newly released figures on the state’s class-size reduction program. Class-size reduction has proceeded more slowly for kindergarten and third grade, with roughly 70% of students now in smaller classes. The state plans to distribute$1.5 billion this year to pay for reduced class sizes. Here are projected funds for each school district in Los Angeles County:
