ANNIVERSARY WALTZ

Todd Sand and Jenni Meno, pairs skaters from Costa Mesa, will celebrate an anniversary of sorts when they compete in Sunday’s short program.

It was on the day of the Winter Olympics short program four years ago in Norway that Sand asked Meno to marry him.

“I thought about waiting for Valentine’s Day, which was a couple of days later, or until we got back home,” Sand said Friday. “But I figured this way would be more memorable.”

Meno, by the way, accepted.
