City to Pick Representative to Police Dispatch Panel
LOS ALAMITOS — The city will pick a representative next week for Westcomm, a panel that governs police dispatch services for Los Alamitos, Cypress and Seal Beach.
The group’s three members oversee employee contracts, budgets and telephone access to the police.
Councilwoman Alice Jempsa said she’d like to serve another term. The council will decide the issue Monday.
In other action Monday, the council will present service awards to Jim Ashcraft, a former Fine Arts & Cultural Affairs commissioner, and John O’Brien, a past traffic commissioner. The meeting begins at 7 p.m. at City Hall, 3191 Katella Ave.
