Tennessee Defeats Old Dominion, 85-61

Chamique Holdsclaw scored 24 of her 33 points in the second half as No. 1-ranked Tennessee women ran their winning streak to 31 games with an 85-61 victory over No. 3 Old Dominion Saturday at Knoxville, Tenn.

Tennessee (25-0), the two-time defending national champion, struggled midway through the second half before pulling away from the Monarchs (19-2) in a rematch of the 1997 NCAA final.

Holdsclaw was 11 for 16 in the second half. Tamika Catchings had 16 points for the Volunteers, and Semeka Randall celebrated her 19th birthday with 18 points, six rebounds, six steals and a blocked shot.

Aubrey Eblin led Old Dominion with 21 points.

Lisa Griffith scored a game-high 18 points to lead No. 8 Arizona to a 71-65 victory over Washington State in a Pacific 10 game at Pullman, Wash. Arizona, 15-5 overall and 8-3 in the Pacific 10, led nearly the entire game but allowed Washington State (9-11, 3-8) to take a 64-62 lead with 3:13 to go. . . . No. 21 Washington (15-5, 6-5) had a 15-0 second-half run in rolling to a 62-39 victory over visiting Arizona State (9-11, 5-6). Amber Hill had 14 points and 12 rebounds for the Huskies.
