Man, Juvenile Arrested During Attempted Holdup
Police arrested a man and a juvenile as they were allegedly robbing a pedestrian Thursday morning just outside a convenience store in Westchester.
Rodney Redmond, 31, of Carson, and a 15-year-old from Los Angeles were spotted as police were patrolling the 5800 block of Manchester Boulevard about 2 a.m., said Los Angeles Police Det. Chuck Worthen of the Pacific Division.
A shopper was walking out of a 7-Eleven store when the juvenile approached him with a gun and told him to surrender his money and cellular phone. Officers Heidi Llanes and Dora Osorio spotted the suspect and a man waiting in a vehicle.
Redmond was being held at Pacific Division on suspicion of robbery. His bail has been set at $50,000. The boy is being held at Sylmar Juvenile Hall.
