Dog Park Could Open for Business
Although doing business in parks is illegal, the city may loosen the leash and allow professional dog walkers and pet sitters to take their canine clients to Bark Park.
Members of the Bark Park committee and another parks panel recently recommended limited commercial use, saying pet walkers and sitters provide a much-needed service.
On Monday, the City Council will consider allowing the businesses to use Bark Park, at Newport Boulevard and Arlington Drive, but ban them from soliciting or collecting fees on public property.
If the policy is passed, park commissioners will be given the authority to tack on additional regulations.
The meeting starts at 6:30 p.m. in City Hall, 77 Fair Drive.
