More Holidays Heard From

All it took was the wistful observation that there didn’t seem to be any food-related promotional holidays in February (“Make My Days,” Dec. 28). Now we’ve heard that the last week in February is Pancake Week, and in fact the whole month is Pancake Month. Not only that, February turns out to be National Cherry Month, National Noodle Month, National Canned Fruit Month, National Grapefruit Month (a pointed conflict with Jan. 23, Texas Red Grapefruit Day), Return Shopping Carts to the Market Month and National Fiber Focus Month.

OK, enough. We were wrong, the of month February is chockablock with food holidays. In fact, we’re starting to wish it were even shorter than it is.
