Decision Expected on City Council Position
Suspense is mounting as a decision to appoint a new City Council member nears.
The council interviewed candidates last week and plans to make an appointment Thursday.
Thomas Le Clair, one of 16 candidates who filed an application for the vacant post, has withdrawn from the race.
That leaves a pool of residents ranging in age from 29 to 80.
The council vacancy was created when David M. Cheverton resigned last month, 10 months before his term was to have expired. His successor will serve until the end of the term in December.
