GIRLS’ SOCCER PLAYOFFS

Manhattan Beach Mira Costa 1, Cypress 0--Mira Costa scored on a first-half penalty kick and goalie Chelsea McCarthy made one save to shut out Cypress (14-4-2). Mira Costa improved to 24-4.

Mater Dei 4, Westlake Village Westlake 1--Erinn Goletz scored two goals and Alison Fennell scored her 24th goal of the season for the visiting Monarchs (16-3-3), who advanced to play the Ventura Buena-Santa Barbara winner.

South Torrance 1, Kennedy 0--Tiffany Wing scored with nine minutes remaining for top-seeded South Torrance (25-0-3). Jihan Elgazzar had five saves for Kennedy (14-6-3).

In Division III:

El Modena 3, Lakewood 0--Vicki Bloom, Monica Chavez and Deanna Carlson each scored for the Vanguards (16-9-1), who will play Pacifica in the quarterfinals.

Pacifica 4, Lakewood St. Joseph’s 0--Diana DeAugustine, Amanda Freed and Colleen Blaylock each scored for the visiting Mariners (24-4).

In Division IV:

Brethren Christian 2, San Pedro Mary Star 1 (OT)--Hannah Nagle scored the winner 10 minutes into overtime for host Brethren Christian (17-1-3), which will play Ontario Christian.
