Seniors Want to Reside in Century City
The Bruins have been out of the race for weeks, but officially ended their three-year reign as Pacific 10 Conference champions on Thursday when 15-0 Arizona defeated California and eliminated third-place UCLA.
Still, there are milestones to accomplish: UCLA’s next victory this season will give the senior class of Toby Bailey, J.R. Henderson and Kris Johnson its 100th career victory.
Coach Steve Lavin reasons that the class reached 100 with Thursday’s victory over Washington State, but that includes the 1995 loss to Cal at Pauley Pavilion, which only counts as a technical victory because it was later forfeited by the Golden Bears because of NCAA violations.
Bailey is currently 10th on UCLA’s career scoring list with 1,714 points, and is only seven points behind No. 9 David Greenwood.
Henderson, meanwhile, has moved ahead of Gail Goodrich into 11th place, with 1,692 points.
With strong finishes, either Bailey or Henderson--or both--could move as high as No. 5, ahead of Trevor Wilson (1,798), Tracy Murray (1,792), Charles O’Bannon (1,784) and Bill Walton (1,767).

A magnetic-resonance imaging test Friday of the head and face of freshman guard Earl Watson showed no broken bones or internal damage.
In a further healthy sign, Watson, who was knocked unconscious for several minutes by Cougar forward Carlos Daniel in a spill during Thursday’s game, has not suffered from headaches or nausea since the injury.
UCLA expects Watson to be able to play Sunday against Washington.
