City to Focus on Redevelopment, Jobs
City officials expect to continue working to bring jobs and income to Garden Grove in 1998 through redevelopment and upgrading neighborhoods.
City Manager George Tindall said officials hope to continue improving the quality of life through economic development and redevelopment programs, including efforts to bring hotels and restaurants to Harbor Boulevard.
“Our opportunity with the Disney resort is on Harbor Boulevard, and by bringing business into Garden Grove we can continue to have safe neighborhoods, programs for kids and reasonable city services,” he said.
Mayor Bruce Broadwater said the city’s efforts to bring in new housing, educational institutions and hotels and restaurants will continue in 1998.
“We will focus on projects that bring in tax money that spills over into city coffers,” he said.
