Trustees to Consider Filling Vacant Seat
The Anaheim City School District will consider appointing a trustee Tuesday to fill the seat left by Harald G. Martin.
Trustees voted this week against holding a special election, choosing instead to make an appointment, an option allowed by the state education code.
Board President Benny Hernandez said trustees already have someone slated to fill the seat, but because of recent interest in the position, the board might make applications available before making a decision. He declined to disclose the name of the leading candidate.
Martin, who also serves as board president of the Anaheim Union High School District, resigned in December after concerns were raised about his being on two boards.
The meeting will be at 7 p.m. at the district’s Staff Development Center, Building B, 1001 S. East St., Anaheim. Information: (714) 517-8500.
