Used Car Dealer Slain During Apparent Robbery
Sheriff’s detectives are looking for a gunman who killed a used car dealer during an apparent robbery in Cudahy.
The victim, Manuel Rodriguez, 39, owned Carlos Enterprises in Cudahy and lived in Downey, said Sheriff’s Department spokesman Steve Sciacca.
Three men accosted Rodriguez when he pulled into the driveway of a business associate in the 5200 block of Clara Street just before 2 p.m. Thursday, the deputy said.
Detectives believe Rodriguez was pistol-whipped before being shot in the head.
The killer was about 25 years old, 5 feet, 8 inches tall, with short black hair and a mustache, Sciacca said. Anyone with information should call (213) 890-5500.
