CSUN Athletics
The CSUN Task Force on Intercollegiate Athletics worked hard to develop the best plan and recommendations that we could for CSUN and for the Valley community. It is extremely gratifying to see President Blenda Wilson accept our recommendations to maintain a broad-based athletic program (“CSUN Head Reinstates Sports Axed in Spring,” Dec. 23).
My hope is that the work of the task force, now adopted in principle by the university, will help create a bridge between CSUN and the larger community. How can average citizens get involved? First, financial contributions large and small are needed to expand the university’s athletic program. Another way to get involved is to buy tickets to CSUN Matador sporting events. Our student athletes need community support if they are to achieve the highest levels of excellence.
