Quintuplets Born to Brooklyn Couple
NEW YORK — Quintuplets, three girls and two boys, were born 13 weeks premature to a young Brooklyn couple Saturday night at New York University Medical Center, the hospital said Sunday.
Miriam Schnitzler, 22, delivered the babies at 9:37 p.m. EST Saturday, Steven Rubenstein, a spokesman for the hospital, said Sunday. All are in the neonatal care center at Tisch Hospital, he said.
The mother and father, Chaim Schnitzler, 28, live in a small apartment in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, and are both members of the Satmar Hasidic sect, he said.
They have not yet named their babies, Rubenstein said.
