Cool, We Caught a Trawler!
Herring rebelled against a Norwegian trawler’s net and sank the 63-foot ship, the Oslo newspaper Dagbladet reported Jan. 6. When the crew of the Steinholm, fishing off the northern coast of Norway, tried to haul the net in, the entire school of herring swam for the bottom, capsizing the ship. The crew tried to cut the net loose but were forced to abandon the ship, which sank in 10 minutes. The six fishermen were rescued unharmed by another trawler, but it is not known whether the fish escaped the net.
New England Is for Lovers
Talk about smashing stereotypes. A show being broadcast on the ABC affiliate in Boston is named “The Food New England Romantic Dinner.” Highly regarded Boston chef Tony Ambrose gives recipes like crispy potato/caviar souffle with petite oyster sauce and sturgeon with cream and coconut milk to set “a sexy playful mood.” The show will have a segment on seductive wines and a discussion of aphrodisics by a nutritionist, and it’s produced by Roberto Mighty Productions.
