Government Officials to Offer Tax Seminar
Employers will get a chance to learn from state, local and federal officials about the latest taxpaying and filing requirements at a seminar next month.
The state Employment Development Department seminar is scheduled for Aug. 11 from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Employers will have an opportunity to learn how the new laws, which took effect July 1, will change state requirements for reporting and employee payrolls.
State officials also will review the difference between an independent contractor and employees. Other topics include federal reporting requirements and how to complete business license applications.
The seminar will be held at the Ventura Taxpayer Service Center, 4820 McGrath St., Suite 250. Seating is limited to 30 people.
Those interested in attending can call 677-2785 for reservations or more information.
