Regional Job Fair Will Be Held Thursday at Casino
The city will host a free Southern California regional job fair Thursday at Hollywood Park Casino.
One of the main goals of “Job Zone” is to assist workers dislocated by the aerospace industry downturn of recent years, officials said.
“Now that the economy is good and a lot of people are employed, employers are having a tough time finding people to fill positions,” said Jami Simon of the South Bay Private Industry Council, one of the sponsors of the fair. “We make it easy access for everybody.”
More than 80 employers from four states will be represented at the event, hiring at all levels. Thirteen private industry councils and the California Employment Development Department will join in sponsoring the event.
Job training opportunities, career counseling and resume assistance will also be available. The fair will be from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. For information, call Jan Vogel at (310) 412-4258.
