Outage Cuts Power to 1,800 Customers
A power outage affected about 1,800 Southern California Edison customers in downtown Santa Monica on Monday, officials said.
A 56-square-block area lost power at 12:17 p.m., Edison spokesman Steve Hansen said.
The area was bordered by Montana Avenue on the north, Ocean Avenue on the west, Colorado Avenue on the south and Lincoln Boulevard on the east, Hansen said.
Power was returned to some customers as early as 1:10 p.m., but about 50 customers still had no power Monday afternoon, he said.
Crews worked to restore power and find the cause of the outage, which was not immediately clear.
Hansen said he was unsure when all customers’ electricity would be restored.
