Kevin Howard, a City Section champion in the 100 meters in 1997, will transfer from Oregon and join the Cal State Fullerton men’s track and field team this fall, Titan Coach John Elders said Monday.
Howard, who competed for Crenshaw High, finished fifth in the 100 in the 1997 state high school meet. Howard was one of eight finalists in the 100 in the Pac-10 championships last spring despite an injury.
The Titans also have signed sprinter Kassem Dickens of Compton Dominguez High. Dickens was a state qualifier last season in the 400 meters. He has a personal best of 48.2 seconds in the event.
