A Mother’s Thanks
Re: “Teen Samaritan Stabbed by Suspect in Assault on Girl,” July 19. The 16-year-old who got stabbed was my son. I am writing because my son would not be alive today if it hadn’t been for numerous people.
The Oxnard Police Department, Fire Department and Gold Coast Ambulance were great. But my special thanks go to Officer David Landswerk and Smedley Security Officer Jose Joana. Jose’s quick thinking stopped my son from bleeding to death; Officer Landswerk helped me make it through a really rough time.
All of these people deserve to be recognized for what they did. I’m glad that there are people who care.
