Power Outage Affects Hundreds of People
A section of north Oxnard was without power much of the afternoon Saturday after an underground switch failed, Southern California Edison said.
The outage affecting 975 customers began at 12:36 p.m. and lasted until 5 p.m., when most residents regained electricity, spokesman Mike Montoya said.
However, 61 customers were expected to remain without power until this morning because crews had difficulty repairing the broken switch, Montoya said.
The outage included an area bordered by the Ventura Freeway, Oxnard Boulevard and Gonzales Road, Montoya said.
