KINGS / DUCKS REPORT
Right wing Vitali Yachmenev was recalled by the Kings on Monday after playing 51 games with Long Beach of the International Hockey League.
Yachmenev, who held out during training camp, did not play against the Mighty Ducks, but he could be in the lineup tonight at Phoenix. Yachmenev played the last two seasons with the Kings and has 29 goals and 85 points in 145 games.
“I’m excited to be here . . . to finally have it happen,” said Yachmenev, who did not find out about his call-up until after he returned home from a morning practice with the Ice Dogs.
Yachmenev, who had 19 goals and 43 points for Long Beach, said that he doesn’t know how long he will be with the Kings, but he’s glad to be back in the NHL.
“It’s better late than never,” he said.

Center Nathan LaFayette, who had been cleared to play on Sunday, was a scratch against the Ducks after he was downgraded to day-to-day because of post-concussion syndrome.
