FutureNet Restraining Order Modified
FutureNet Inc. won a modification of the temporary restraining order that had closed the Valencia-based multilevel marketing firm following a lawsuit by the Federal Trade Commission. The FTC accused FutureNet of operating a pyramid scheme. FutureNet has denied the charges. The company, which employs 200 people, markets Internet products, health and beauty aids and electricity through a series of distributors and a Web site. Until a hearing April 13, a court-appointed monitor will oversee FutureNet’s financial activities and is allowed to sell its products. However, FutureNet is not allowed to recruit potential distributors. FutureNet and the FTC have begun settlement discussions, the company said.
