Fowlkes Beats the Clock and Memphis
Tremaine Fowlkes’ three-point basket from the right corner as time expired gave Fresno State an 83-80 victory over Memphis in a second-round game Monday at Fresno.
Memphis’ coaching staff argued at the scorers’ table that the ball did not leave Fowlkes’ hands until after the buzzer sounded. But the three referees left immediately after the game and the final score stood. Fowlkes finished with 24 points.
