Chip Caray Offers to Sing for Cubs

Chip Caray, grandson of the late sportscaster Harry Caray, has offered to sing “Take Me Out to the Ball Game” at Chicago Cub games this season.

The song was a trademark for the elder Caray, who sang it during the seventh-inning stretch at Wrigley Field. The popular broadcaster died last month.

Cub President Andy MacPhail said the Cubs may accept the younger Caray’s offer--but not at the April 3 home opener.

The team has other plans that will be announced soon.
