Man Killed When Motorcycle Rams Hydrant in Orange
ORANGE — A 48-year-old motorcyclist was killed when he crashed into a fire hydrant Sunday afternoon.
Chester B. Sill of Anaheim was pronounced dead at the scene, according to Police Sgt. Kevin Roberts.
Witnesses told police that Sill, who was riding a 1994 Honda, drifted off East Santiago Road near Kennymead Street.
Sill, who was wearing a helmet, suffered massive head injuries when the motorcycle struck a fire hydrant before slamming into a wooden fence about 1:30 p.m.
Robert said alcohol does not appear to be a factor in the accident.
