Rick Rubin Signs Sony Album Deal

Veteran record producer Rick Rubin has cut a deal with Sony’s Columbia Records Group to finance and distribute his American Recordings label, home to such acts as Johnny Cash and the Jayhawks.

Under the deal, Rubin will produce and release a series of soundtrack albums culled from the hit Comedy Central cartoon show “South Park.”
