Businesses Invited to Crime Prevention Meeting
Business owners can attend a crime prevention meeting this morning sponsored by the Santa Monica Police Department.
Topics will include surveillance equipment and monitoring, employment screenings, self-defense and fraud detection, said Lt. Gary Gallinot.
“We’re trying to bring the business community together in Santa Monica to deal with crime issues,” said Gallinot.
Shoplifting and passing counterfeit currency are the main crimes at Santa Monica businesses, he said.
About 100 companies that provide surveillance equipment will be at the meeting, he said.
The session will begin with a continental breakfast at 8:30 in the East Wing of the Santa Monica Civic Auditorium, 1855 Main St., Santa Monica. Parking will be validated.
