Amanda Freed

Pacifica, Senior; Softball/Pitcher

Freed didn’t just pitch one no-hitter last week. She pitched two on consecutive days. Thursday, Freed struck out 19 in an 8-0 victory over La Quinta. She also drove in a run in that game. Friday, she struck out 13 in a 2-0 victory over then 10th-ranked Kennedy.

* Irvine, freshman. Helped team win the 200 breaststroke and the team title at the Southern Section Relays.

Maika Nelson/Track and Field

* Brea Olinda, senior. Posted the county’s fastest 800 time this season, 2 minutes 22 seconds, in a 109-27 victory over Savanna.

Angela Yorba/Softball/Infield

* Los Amigos, sophomore. Her two-run double sparked a three-run rally that propelled Los Amigos to its first Garden Grove League victory in six years, 4-3 over Santiago.
