Spotlight: It’s Headline News Up in Tehachapi
The Tehachapi News and three other Kern County publications are being purchased by the Bakersfield Californian. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. The agreement, expected to be completed about June 1, includes the 8,000-circulation Tehachapi News, the weekly shopper Tehachapi Extra, the Southeast Kern Weekender and another publication, Tehachapi’s Own Phone Book. The Tehachapi News began publication as the Tehachapi Tomahawk just before the turn of the century.
