Simi Convenience Store Manager Robbed
SIMI VALLEY — A manager of a convenience store was robbed of a bank bag containing a day’s worth of store receipts, police said Thursday.
Steven Bloch, the daytime manager of the 7-11 at 1840 Cochran St., was robbed about 4:30 p.m. in the store’s parking lot, Lt. Rex Jones of the Simi Valley Police Department said.
Bloch, 42, told police he left the store and was walking toward his car when a man approached him from behind and thrust an object in his back.
“He said it felt like a gun,” Jones said.
Bloch, who was not injured, told police he was on his way to make a deposit when the robber told him to hand over the bank bag, Jones said. The robber then fled in an unknown direction, Jones said.
Bloch told police he did not see the robber and therefore could not provide a description, said Jones, adding that the amount of cash in the bag was unknown.
