Camarillo Hands It to the Lancers
Thousand Oaks High kept its playoff hopes alive, thanks in part to five Camarillo errors in the Lancers’ 7-0 Marmonte League victory in softball Thursday at Camarillo.
Thousand Oaks (12-5-1, 6-4 in league play), ranked No. 9 in the region by The Times, scored five unearned runs to upset third-ranked Camarillo (13-3, 8-2).
The Lancers increased a 3-0 lead with a four-run fifth, scoring on an illegal pitch, a wild pitch, an error and a run-scoring triple by Kim Martin.
Nicole Angelo (8-3) threw a four-hitter for the fourth-place Lancers, who pulled to within two games of first place with four games left.
