Former Ram Cowan Dies After Kidney Failure
Charlie Cowan, a Los Angeles Ram offensive lineman for 15 years, died Wednesday of complications from kidney failure. Cowan, 59, played for the Rams from 1961-75. A fixture at left tackle, Cowan represented the Rams in the Pro Bowl after the 1967, ‘68, ’69 and ’70 seasons.
Cowan was a fourth-round draft choice in 1961 from New Mexico Highlands, where he played several positions.
Funeral services will be Saturday at 3 p.m. at Sky Rose Chapel in Rose Hills Memorial Park in Whittier. Viewing is scheduled from 5 p.m. to 8 tonight at the visitation room.
He is survived by his wife, Irene, and four daughters, Nathalie Ann, Cecilia Ann, Allyson Ruth and Francine.
