Xylan Corp. named Mark Truhlar vice president of its network management development and its Voice over IP business unit.
Truhlar will be in charge of the company’s Internet Protocol development network effort, which will deliver products for low-cost global telephone service over the Internet.
Previously, he was vice president and general manager of the Spectrum network at Cabletron and was responsible for a software product line.
Xylan, headquartered in Calabasas, makes high-bandwidth switching systems used by computer networks.
Amgen has promoted Kathryn E. Falberg to vice president of finance and chief financial officer. She previously served as vice president, corporate controller and chief accounting officer.
She succeeds Robert S. Attiyeh, who will continue to serve as senior vice president of corporate development until June 30, when he will become a consultant to the company.
Falberg, who joined Amgen in 1995 as treasurer, was promoted to vice president in December 1996.
Dr. Alan Zwerner has been named senior vice president and chief medical officer at Health Net, the large health maintenance organization based in Woodland Hills.
Previously, Zwerner was chief executive of the Medical Quality Commission, a national organization that accredits medical groups. He was also senior medical director at Family Health Plan and has held a faculty position at UC Irvine’s Graduate School of Management.
Health Net has 2.3 million members statewide.
