Campuses to Receive After-School Funding
A grant from the city will help support after-school programs for middle school students at four campuses.
The Fountain Valley School District Board of Trustees on Thursday plans to accept a $5,000 grant from the city, which comes from a larger federal grant targeting community service programs.
The grant will be used to pay stipends for teachers who provide after-school classes in subjects including drama, woodworking, art and homework skills, said Susan Grantham, assistant to the superintendent. The allocation will help fund services for the 1998-99 school year.
School trustees will meet at 7:30 p.m. in the Education Center Board Room, 17210 Oak St.
