L.A.’s self-described Jewish lesbian folk singer is typically lighthearted in lamenting her old-fashioned romantic values, but she also delves deeper, probing the anguish of her brother’s murder with lucid fury. At less than 30 minutes, it’s a short ride, but sensitive pacing prevents emotional whiplash.
