** 1/2 Bryan Adams, “On a Day Like Today,” A&M.; Adams’ 10th studio album features electronically enhanced, modern rock-savvy production and a guest appearance by Spice Girl Melanie C., who duets with the Canadian singer-songwriter on the pining “When You’re Gone.” At its core, though, this is still old-fashioned meat-and-potatoes rock ‘n’ roll: seductively catchy at best, generic-sounding at worst, always accessible and comfortable.
