*** 1/2 Vic Chesnutt, “The Salesman & Bernadette,” Capricorn. You find Elliott Smith too accessible? Well, there’s always Vic Chesnutt. The trailer-park Leonard Cohen might get listener-friendly on his sixth album, dressing up his songs with touches of Southern soul and horn-spiked rock, but his music retains its tough core and its unique blend of tragedy and innocence. Chesnutt plays the Troubadour on Tuesday.
