30 Held in Protest Over Freed Kurd

Police arrested 30 demonstrators in Brussels during a protest by Turkish immigrants over Italy’s rejection of a Turkish arrest warrant for Kurdish rebel leader Abdullah Ocalan. “There were 30 arrests, 28 for breach of the peace, one for possession of an illegal weapon and one for possession of drugs,” a police spokesman said. He said that as many as 250 demonstrators, mostly teenagers, were involved in the protest in a district of the Belgian capital populated by North African and Turkish immigrants.
