Identity of Body Found in Forest Sought
Authorities, in an effort to identify the body, released a description Sunday of an unidentified female found dead in the Los Padres National Forest last week.
Detectives said the body is that of a 5-feet-6 white female in her late teens to early 20s with light brown hair and a slender build. She was wearing a pinkish-tan and blue velour jacket and blue jeans.
Her death is being investigated as a homicide, Sgt. Paul Higgason of the Ventura County Sheriff’s Department said.
An autopsy conducted Saturday proved inconclusive, he said.
The body was found about 2 p.m. Friday in the Hungry Valley area by two bird hunters from the Los Angeles area.
