Tennessee, Kansas State, UCLA Retain Poll Spots
Tennessee appears quite comfortable at No. 1.
The Volunteers (11-0) are on top of The Associated Press’ Top 25 poll for the fourth straight week with 41 first-place votes and 1,669 points, maintaining a solid lead over 11-0 Kansas State (24 first-place votes and 1,638 points) a week before the final regular-season poll.
UCLA (10-0) remained No. 3 with 1,579 points.
Florida State (11-1) was No. 4 and Ohio State (10-1) was No. 5.
In the USA Today/ESPN coaches’ poll, the top five were Kansas State, Tennessee, UCLA, Florida State and Ohio State.
Notre Dame, which lost to USC, 10-0, Saturday, dropped to No. 16 in both polls. The Irish were No. 9 in the AP poll and No. 10 in the USA Today/ESPN poll.
USC had the most points of any team not in the AP Top 25 poll.
