Leona Lee; Camarillo’s 1992 Senior of the Year
Camarillo resident Leona Lee died at her home Thursday. She was 106.
Lee was born in Alabama on April 25, 1892. She married in 1912 and lived for many years in Omaha, Neb., before moving to Camarillo in 1967, her family said.
In 1992, Lee was named Senior of the Year by the Camarillo Chamber of Commerce, and in 1995 she was honored by the Pleasant Valley Historic Society. Lee was a longtime member of the United Methodist Church in Camarillo.
Lee was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Lee, who died in 1958. Lee was also preceded in death by her son, Lloyd Lee, who died in 1996.
Lee is survived by her daughter, Juliette Lee of Camarillo, and two granddaughters.
Funeral services will be in Omaha, where Lee will be buried in a family plot. A memorial service will be held at a later date in Camarillo. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the United Methodist Church in Camarillo.
