This is the 37th meeting between the teams and the Friars have not defeated the Monarchs since 1988. Last year’s 47-0 loss was the worst suffered by Servite in the series. To end the streak, the Friars will need their large, sturdy offensive line to make room for running back Matt Gogan and control the clock. The defense must keep Mater Dei’s Scott Lukash, who has six touchdown passes in his last two games, and receiver Kelvin Millhouse from breaking open a big play. The Monarchs need not worry about their passing game if Junior Palacios has a big night carrying the ball.
