Verdugo Hills 6, Lincoln 0--Jason Dupras’ five-yard touchdown pass to tight end Nathan Lukaszewski late in the third quarter was the difference as the Dons (2-3, 2-0) won their first home game under lights.
Lincoln (0-4, 0-2) was held to 122 yards--only 24 in the first half. The Tigers twice drove to the Dons’ 30-yard line in the fourth quarter.
But Luis Callejas preserved the victory by sacking Carlos Lara with a minute to play on fourth down from the Dons’ 30.
On the winning score, Dupras fired a quick pass over the middle to Lukaszewski, who caught the ball in the end zone between two defenders.
A key defensive play was turned in by Kevin Mugavero, who intercepted a pass in the fourth quarter.
