Olive Abundance

There is a lot of good olive bread in Southern California, and Bezjian’s Bakery in Hollywood offers three varieties. The one pictured contains Greek green olives, walnuts, watercress and red pepper. It looks like an upside-down mushroom because of the way it was scored just before baking (the shape identifies it as an olive loaf). Bezjian’s also makes a plain Kalamata olive bread and a one with oil-cured Moroccan olives, orange peel and thyme.
