Youths Plan Tobacco March

Speak Out!, a group of young leaders that recently tried unsuccessfully to persuade the City Council to ban tobacco displays in local markets, will host a youth march Oct. 24 from City Hall to Triangle Square.

Marchers are seeking greater awareness of youth issues. The group also is seeking a reversal of the City Council decision on self-service tobacco displays.

The march begins at 11 a.m. at City Hall, 77 Fair Drive, and continues along Newport Boulevard to the shopping center at 19th Street. The event should wrap up by 2 p.m.
